Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones Seadelish sets, why, and how you can control them. It forms part of our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as localStorage, pixels and software development kits, do a comparable job and are covered by the same rules in this policy.

Categories we use

  • Strictly necessary – keep the site working. Examples: the session cookie that lets a logged-in editor reach the admin area, security cookies that protect our comment and contact forms, and a preference cookie that remembers whether you accepted or rejected advertising cookies. These cannot be switched off because the site would not function without them.
  • Performance and analytics – tell us which recipes are read, where readers came from, and which pages fail to hold attention. The data is aggregated and it lets us decide what to cook and photograph next. We do not use these to build a profile of you as an individual.
  • Functional – remember choices such as newsletter opt-in state, comment-form details so you do not retype your name, and display preferences.
  • Advertising and targeting – set by our ad partners to serve relevant ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure campaign performance. On pages served in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom these load only after you give consent through our cookie banner; elsewhere they may operate on a legitimate-interest basis with an opt-out available.

First-party and third-party cookies

First-party cookies come from seadelish.com. Third-party cookies are set by the services we embed – ad networks, analytics, social platforms and video players – and their retention is governed by those providers. The main categories of recipient are our advertising partners, our analytics provider, and social platforms whose share buttons may drop identifiers if you interact with them.

How long cookies last

Session cookies disappear when you close your browser. Persistent cookies used for preferences and measurement typically live between 30 days and 13 months; advertising identifiers may be refreshed by the ad vendor within the limits of their own policy.

Controlling cookies

  • Use the cookie banner on any page to accept, reject or customise non-essential categories. Your choice is stored and honoured on later visits.
  • Change your browser settings to block or delete cookies. The shortcut keys and menu locations are described by your browser vendor (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
  • Opt out of interest-based advertising through the industry pages we link to in the Privacy Policy, and through the settings of each ad network.
  • Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in, comments and other functions.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We honour the Global Privacy Control signal where our tooling supports it, meaning a visitor who sends GPC is treated as having opted out of the sharing of personal information for advertising purposes.

Updates

We review this policy whenever we add a service that stores or reads information on your device. If the list of vendors changes materially we update the date at the bottom of the page. Questions: [email protected].
